Food Rescue

The mission of Community Plates is to end food insecurity through the rescue and direct transfer of nutritious, fresh foods.  Our innovative technology app and volunteer-driven platform enable us to maximize the quality and quantity of food delivered to hungry families.  Our core values guide every aspect of our work:  Community, Passion, Innovation, Simplicity and Gratitude.

The Community Plates food rescue platform is built on three distinctive elements aimed at scalability and sustainability:The positive impact of the Community Plates food rescue platform can be measured in several important ways:

By bringing together food donors, volunteer food runners and receiving agencies who distribute rescued food, Community Plates provides a simple, engaging and most importantly successful way to significantly change the face of hunger in our neighborhoods and cities.
