100 Corporate Drive
Unit B106
Trumbull, CT 06611

Ed Freedman has been in professional business services sales and sales management for over 25 years working in leadership roles for global companies like British Telecom, Lucent and Avaya. For the same period of time Ed has been a coffee connoisseur and dedicated home coffee roaster. Many home roasters like Ed have taken their passion and expertise and launched production coffee roaster businesses. After recognizing that Fairfield County, CT had a dearth of high quality artisan coffee roasting Ed took the same path as other home roasters have and launched Shearwater Organic Coffee Roasters in Trumbull.
Shearwater is the first and only USDA Certified Organic Coffee Roaster in Fairfield County. Shearwater is a self-funded family run business that started in September 2013 with a dedication to build a high quality gourmet coffee roasting service that Fairfield County could be proud of and call their own. Truly the spirit of Local! Shearwater Organic Coffee Roasters is primarily a wholesale business selling to the area's leading restaurants, coffee/espresso bars, bakeries, hotels and gourmet markets. Shearwater offers these customers fresh-roasted small-batch organic coffee for brewing for their customers as well as retail bagged whole-bean coffee for resale. Shearwater customers include the Parallel Post, Whole Foods, Artisan, The Whelk, Kawa Ni, The Spread, Mezon, Back 40 Kitchen, l'escale, The Elm, The Schoolhouse, Ari Bella, Martel, Mecha Sono, bar Taco, The Pantry,  The Bluebird Inn, Elm City Social, Hi-Ho Motel, The Steam Coffee Bar, Tusk & Cup, Down to Earth Coffee Bar, Kent Coffee & Chocolate, Bristol Yoga and Cafe, and Foccacia's Catery.
